I would bring everything you might think you need simply because I would hate for you to get here and realize that you need it, and that it's not available here! Supplies are very very limited unless you utilize the Inet to have things sent and then it does take a while to say the least!
As far as fishing from shore.... I am, or was a dedicated surf/reef fisherman from Hawaii. Unless someone shows you some key places... it is extremely rough shore fishing here. Your best bet would be to get your motorboat qual here (free 2x classes) and use a mako to bottom fish or as we have done when a ocean master was not available and troll in the lagoon for Trevalli (spelling?) which is a lot of fun! the boat rental is only $7.00 an hour for the mako's and we have new deep sea trollers on their way as we speak!
If you think you might need it..... bring it!
