Different alright.
For your information -
GT = Giant Trevally ( Caranx ignobilis )
which is often confused with
Turrum ( Carangoides fulvoguttatus )
but never ever confused with a
Goldy = Golden Trevally ( Gnathanodon speciosus )
The fish caught & killed in that clip is a Golden Trevally. Obviously different cultures have different values and tastes. Im not going to crucify those guys for killing the fish but I know local fishing guides like Paul Dolan of Fraser Coast Sport Fishing Charters who make thier livelyhood out of these fish, would be mortified to say the least.
In Australia trevally are best known as a spectacular & highly sought after sportfish with many anglers coming to Hervey Bay specifically for the chance at sight casting on fly or lure to Golden Trevally feeding in the crystal clear waters over the sand flats of Fraser Island with many Goldy's making the 90+cm mark and weighing around 10 to 15 kg approximately. Trevally around here are valued for their sportfish characteristics rather than their very poor eating qualities.
Cheers
James
