Hiya Tex, Weight 6/7 on a light Diawa Whisker 11ft seatrout rod with a large arbour reel, and plenty of backing. It sure is heart stopping when ya hook up with one of these ok. I have hooked three other bigger fish this year in the same river, and hardly seen them, except for the fact that they were tearing off downstream back to sea as fast as they could. Just held on until the line snapped, nothing you can do when they turn for sea and run like crazy. Just looked at the reel in amazment, thinkin shit! if I get my hand on that its gonna burn.
