Fortuately the Salmon have still been busy trying to get up the River close to were I live. But unfortunately for this big boy he didn't get past me during Wednesday evening just past. I again played one small fish of about four pound to the bank and returned it unharmed to continue upstream, but this one in the photo fought like a tiger at every opportunity. it took me longer to land this one (without landing net) which was around seven pounds. Than it did to land a fresh nine pounder last week. This cock fish however was longer in the system, and had taken on a darker colour in the brackish bog waters of the Owenmore. The salmon fell to a Yellow shrimp fly, fished on my usual seatrout outfit. I hate to say it, but I was only at the river for about half an hour before I hooked this, and was gone about forty minutes after I hooked it. Some luck eh.
