Sorry Eric but it was normally dogfish which were/are sold as rock salmon. This was because it is a type of shark (all sharp teeth and scratchy skin) and rock salmon was a better sounding name.I had to dissect one (dog fish that is) for GCE O level biology over 40 years ago - can still smell it.
