Haven't used the old fly rod in awhile, but found some flies (Pistol Pete's Flies http://www.pistolpeteflies.com/ ) that I use on a spinnin' rig (ultra-light) with an, "A-Just-A Bubble" bobber (weight for castin') and they will do the job on them Trout ~ guaranteed
! As for your question, really don't know how one would use real fly's, but the imitations work wonders
