Carp will feed in both shallow and deep water. The key is to fish and area that has an open bottom so that the carp can find your bait. Sand or hard mud in the best.

Make a fish finder rig with the size 8 hook - chum the area with a few pounds of sweet corn for about two days before you plan to fish - this teaches the carp to feed there.

Chum a few handfuls right before you start fishing, cast out with a few kernels of corn on the hook and wait - can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to get the carp to pick up your bait.

make sure your drag is loose or you can lose your rod!
