Well the best baitcaster for the money is probably the BPS Extreme reel. It was my first and is my favorite 2 years later. The revo STX is a sweet reel, but for beginners, probably not the best as it needs some experiance to cast it.

The new models are 80 bucks, but you can get last years for 50 and they are just as good IMO.
