Do not use a firearm near any small pond (or any lake or pond for that matter)

1. The owners of the water will most likely be pissed;

2. You will probably get arrested;

3. If you see a snake, move away, do not shoot it. Snakes are vital parts of eco system, if you see it, you can easily get away, there are very few poisonous snakes anyway and they do not attack people, they will bite but usually because they get stepped on and cornered.

4. You have a better chance of getting killed by drowning, lightning, suicide, and just about anything else then by a snake bite. In the USA, snake bite fatalities are VERY VERY rare:

1999…. 7

2000…. 12

2001…. 7

2002…. 3

2003…. 2

2004…. 6

Leave the snakes alone!
