Default Looking for a job

I thought i would post in here to see if anyone would offer me a job as a guide in Alaska. I have looked after a private Salmon fishery in Ireland for some years (excellent references) and have a huge appitite for the outdoors. I worked in the catering trade for years as a front of house person and have good comunication skills. I am a people person, and love to see other people catch fish. I am able to sustain a day long or week long fishing trip with the most negative of fishermen / women, and have done on several occasions. But have always made the day good for the fishing party or person. The contacts I could bring to a job as a guide, may be benificial to any perpective employer. I could work for a short time on a trial basis, and would need help with a relocation if succesful. I am a competant fly bait and lure fisherman, i adapt well to other invironments. For further information and full CV please post.

Yours Sincerely

SilverDreamDave.

Nah man its no dream if you really want it. I always wanted to be a Ranger and now I am. I used to be a Dairyfarmer ( I still love farming and livestock, I always will. ) the government deregulated the industry over here and consequently a lot of Dairyfarmers had to sell out or be sold out by the bank, so I had to take my family and have a crack. Now Im the Head Ranger at Lake Lenthall.

Good luck Im backing ya brother.

Cheers
James

best of luck dave with your pursuit of the Job ....

I dont know of anything off hand ....

but I do know they advertise from time to time in the backs of Fishing magazines .... another thought is how about a Guide in the Mid West US for Trout .... there are lots of places looking for Guides in this field ...

there even is a Guide School you can attend and they have placement oppurtunities ....

again best of luck

Hey pal hows the craic? Well I worked in the hotel trade for years, and my daily hours were around fourteen to eighteen per day. Thats when I decided to get out of it and head for the West Coast Of Ireland, were I was lucky enuff to meet a guy who owned a Salmon Fishery. He asked me if I would look after it! thats when I thought?? yeah there might be a god after all.
And you a head Ranger now big_unit, wtg bro. People used to say to me when I looked after the Fishery; "You don't know how lucky you are" I used to answer "I really do know how lucky, and fortunate I am"
Sure the worst days fishing, is far beter than the best day at work.
Catch ya later James

You are welcome to come guide me. I need someone to take control of this house while I'm away at work and get things prepared for my weekend fishing....

In all seriousness... good luck on the job hunt.

Sure: I am good with dogs, grumpy when people act like A$$es, and have an obsession with fishing.

I love to cook, can clean fish like a pro (becuase I worked as a fish monger for a few years) have offshore experience, will do the dishes and like to read.

Will require access to all local lakes, ponds and streams

Did I mention I have a fishing addiction?

alaska are you sure you want to go there? I dont know how long the seasons are up there that might be something you want to look into. I would say the mid west might be better if your looking to do this year round, then again wtf do I know. If you really wanna make it happen you'll find a way. And I wish you the best of luck in becomming a guide
