We talk a lot on these forums about tackle, boats, techniques, weather, lakes, and so on. I am very curious about what you all wear on your feet during long days on the water. I'm a big guy, and foot comfort is very important to me. I'm trying to get a read on this by watching the pros, and they wear everything from sneakers to flip-flops. Let's see what the replies look like...

For me it's a pair of vans. I have always worn them, or flip-flops for the hot days!

I am a huskey guy and like to wear a good set of performance sandals with straps or duck boots in the colder months to keep the feet warm and the water out. I have also seen an all day mat to add into your boat to relieve the pain.

Till we drink to the foam

Rich

I am addicted to Big game lures and all the pretty colors !!!!

5 days and awake up and I will eastbound for DG

Cooler days out here in Southern California it's Sperry Topsider deck boots, with my pant legs tucked in. When the fishing is good there's a lot of blood on the decks, and the crew washes down the deck frequently. Wet tennis shoes - not good!

Summer I have a pair of crocks (cheap knock off's actually (Big5), but....) They have good grip on the soles, good grip inside the soles, so your feet don't slide around inside of them if they get fish slimy or bloody. The water runs right out so you're not standing in water all day. And it's a little better coverage. Lots of people on some of the party boats, hooks on the floor, fish flopping around,... I don't like my little toes out there exposed in sandles...

Xtra-Tuff deck boots with the Dr. Schools gel pad's. Feet are dry and comfy all day. Sometimes during the summer when it's really hot I get lazy and forgo the deck boots and slip on a pair of sandals with the velcro straps.
