ok with all the lines on the market i was wondering what everyone was using for bass fishing. I use Trilene XT on baitcasters and XL on spinning rods. I just wanted some opinions on other brands. I've tried trilenes big game, Vanish (also by berkly) and stren sensor. I also had spiderwire on one of my rods, and havent used braided line since. As for the LB test of the line it depends on what im fishing but i never like to use anything lower than 12. Well on baitcasters anyway. On my finess spring rod i use 10lb Trilene XL

I had been using Trilene XL up to about a year ago and then since I have been using Stren Dura Tuf in 12 lb test .... for my Spinning Gear ... So far this line has been the best of what I have used .... imo It holds up better and I havent had near as many Breakoffs ...
I know I have used Cajun Red Lightin ' and have had nothing but problems with it since I put it on the pole ... from line twist to lots of breakoffs .... I do want to try some of the others out there as well .... just got to figure out which one I want to try first .... mike |

I generally use McCoy Mean Green in 12 to 14lbs for crank baits, poppers, etc and Suffix DNA 10lbs for plastics. Although lately I haven't been very happy with the Suffix so I may go mean green all the way. In reel heavy weeds or pads I go with Power Pro 30lbs braid with a 10lbs Flourocarbon leader.
