Well looks like my year for fishing is done.

Been having more medical issues recently spent about 7 hours yesterday in the hospital. Needless to say looks like me going to the lakes anymore this year is more then likly out. Maybe I can go to the local river for a day if my health improves enough. So everyone keep posting more keep me fishing even if it is in pictures lol.

Thanks. Yea it sucks retired early to enjoy life and get hit with a slew of bad health issues. Just hope things get better as I do miss fishing I used to go every weekend and sometimes during the week. Used to go flying every other day now thats over for me for good I cant pass the physical now.

Wow, that's a bummer.

Here's a story for you:

This guys works construction and loves ocean and long range fishing. One day, he takes a fall, 35 feet. He wakes up in the hospital, and can't feel anything below his waste. He's devistated!

Well, after a couple of weeks in the hospital, and a lot of physical therapy, he can walk again. But as the weeks pass into months, it's apparent that he'll never be able to work in his chosen field, and certainly never be able to take the rolling and unsteady footing on an ocean fishing boat. He wonders if its worth even going on...

His wife tries to encourage him to go on. They'd always lived within their means, and her job as an elementary school teach will just barely get them by. He used to love freshwater fishing, his wife saves what she can and scours the want ads, and finally finds a small pontoon boat on a trailer she can afford! She surprises him with the boat, and tells him to go fishing... it would be good therapy for him.

The Happy Ending:
To make a long story short, he starts taking friends fishing with him. Eventually he gets his guide's license, and starts hiring himself out as a guide. Now he has sponsors that give him boat, motor, and gear... and I think even his truck! He averages 250 trips a year, and is making pretty decent money at it. What's more, he just freakin loves what he's doing!

Don't give up!! The opportunity of a lifetime could be just around the corner!! ; )

Hey Mutt sorry too hear about your condition hopefully things will improve
quickly so you can get back after the fish. I went after some cat yesterday
but only caught a black beauty south bend deep sea reel. had to laugh.

Glad you got to get out. Thanks yea I am sick of being sick lol. Been so active all my life then to boom get hit with this crap just irks me to no end. Oh well we shall just keep struggeling though to get better thats all I can do. Now go catch some kittys lol

Hey Mutt, I hope and pray you are able to get back to the fishing ASAP. I ain't big on religion, but i'm praying anyway.
I read an article in my local paper about a guy who won a freshwater fishing award for the county, turns out he had both legs amputated and was wheelchair bound. I asked him if I could go fishing with him to teach him how to flyfish, he was delighted and I admired his courage. We havent been yet but we will get there, I will of course have to put myself in a wheelchair voloutarily to teach him. Something I have done in the past for disabled anglers.
I dread the day when i cant make it to ,the bank of the river, and I have my son warned if the time comes, he's gotta get me to the river at all costs. I would rather die by the river hooked up with a fish than in a stuffy hospital room
So if you can make it to the Westcoast of Ireland Mutt, I will arrange flyfishing (trout) with a special boat, and accomodation free of charge, its on me. Anyone else out there?
