Hey there,
Went out to Santa Ana river lakes this morning, got there at opening, started in the main pond on the north side, and my brother caught a nice cat within the hour. Then nothing else and at around 10am we went over the other pond (Catfish Lake). Fished there for a couple hours and my grandpa caught the smallest cat I have ever seen, maybe 5 inches long. Packed it in at around noon. The weather was great. ![]() ready for a bite ![]() i had to do my part to hold it up ![]() it was fun watchin the geese swin and fly by ![]() |

How was it out there? Hot? Crowded?
I've been there a couple of times. Never caught much, but it's nice to just get out and sit by the lake. Dusty and dry, though. I wish they had some more grass and trees around it...

Last time I was there, I got sand blasted, ghetto blasted and skunked! Great pictures. Looks like it was a nice day out there at the little pond by the freeway. Glad to see you didn't get skunked like me. It is always nice to get out with friends and family on the water.
