went down to cherry beach this morning to fish the Baytubers.com tourney that my buddy Augie put together, about a dozen people showed, good to see some new faces and some of the buds, Sea Murda and Cappo5150 came down so thats was cool, the Tshirts for the event were made by the hommie Cortez, good looking out dude,...Ritz son let me borrow some waders and his tube, this is the first time i've tube since my wifes slashed mines, so i was really looking forward to the tourney,..now to the event,..
very slow, some short halibut were caught, no legals, a 2 pound bass took the money, 300 bucks i think,..we launched our tubes at 8am, cause thats when the meters start running, lol, we didnt want to waste quarters, in LB its 25 cents for every 15 minutes, i launched last, i saw sonic and his hommie head for White island, so i said F' it,..followed them too, we tubed the whole island, right when i got there, i saw how big the mussels were, so again i said F' it, might as well fish for perch, i didnt want to really win any how, i wanted to catch fish, whens the next time im going to the island in a tube, i didnt cross what seem like an eternity to get to the island and catch no fish, maybe some dinks with the plastics, so i set up the dropper rig, broke the mussels out and right away started getting slammed, big buttermouth perch and my favorite Sargo! man these suckers fight, only at one corner the sargos were biting, the rest of the place i got nothing but BMPs, i finally ran into the two guys, i saw sonic going out even farther, i asked whats up with him and his buddy started laughing saying a ray took his azz out there! lol,..crazy!
i got to the island at about 9pm, tubed around it to 11am, whoa, time flies by, i got to make it back to the beach at 1230pm, i stilll had a hour to fish, so i went to the little dock they have on the island, started fishing the pilings for more perch, i got some surprise catches, some opal eyes and black smiths, sweet! started paddling back to the beach, half way there, the coast guard stops me, saying a boat race was about to start, i was gonna have to wait one hour! oh man that sucks, so i satred fishing when i heard the roaring sound of hell itself coming from the pier, i look and saw some of those speed boats hauling azz with about 5 helicopters following, whoa what a sight, i had front row seating for that, they went around twice, i got to snap a cool pic of the race, after the race was over we made our way back, what a bytch! fighting the current and we drifted a little off course on where we attended to land, oh well, took a walk back where we ate ceviche and drank some sodas, weighed the winning bass and had a little raffle, look, im gettting a little tired now, so heres the pics and i hope you all had a good morning fishing as well, lol,..peace all!!!

Looks like fun!

I'd like to get one of those floats, start out probably in the lakes, but great way to get out and pull on something without it being another 100 bucks every time!
