Default Kicking some Bass on the Spitfire Twlight – Thursday, July 19, 2007

Kicking some Bass on the Spitfire Twlight – Thursday, July 19, 2007, by Pam Sharp

I had a great time fishing rock fish on the Spitfire Twilight last Thursday, once again, I snuck out of work a little early, changed, and raced down to the landing for a 6:00 departure! With a light load of 21 anglers, we headed notth to look for some Bass!

With Capt. Chris at the helm, Pauly on deck hanging sacks and collecting JP, and Sean in the galley we were off and running! The first stop produced a few fish, but it slowed up quickly, we pulled up achor and started looking around. I took the opportunity to grab a great burger in the galley, while Kenny had a great looking polish sausage sandwich.

The next stop was much more productive, and the passengers were landing a load of nice calico bass, sand bass, and even a few sculpin mixed in!

The bite slowed up the darker it got, but in the end, we left them still at a slow pick bite to head for home.

We ended up with about half limits on bass all the way around, and a handful of miscellaneous others mixed in! Not bad for a few hours work!

And for the second week in a row, I took the JP, with a nice big calico bass (see picture). My very best friend Kenny came in with a close second.

I would like to thank the Spitfire crew for another really fun trip!

For those of you living in Southern California: The Spitfire runs Ύ day trips most weekdays and weekends, and twilight trips (only $35!) leaving at 6:00 pm Thursday thru Tuesday. Call Redondo Sportfishing for reservations or details at (310) 372-2111. It’s always a fun time fishing on the Spitfire!!

Hiya Kenny! We had some great twilight trips in July on the Spitfire!

Trying to decide this weekend whether to grab a spot on a 2-day charter an aquaintence has going with max. 8 people, or just chill and do a day on the Spitfire... with 40-50 of my new closest friends.

When I lived up in the Bay Area, it was a 600 mile drive to get to the Shogun in San Diego...
