Default Albacore Predictions?

Does anyone have any Albacore predictions for this year?....I think last year they only hung around San Diego about 2 weeks...my freezer is empty. I look forward to chatting with you all...Great site!

Im predicting the last week this month, and on through Mid July they will be within the overnight trip range. Dont hold me to that though...its just wishful thinking for now . Hope they are good sized like they were 2 years ago, with an average size going 25lbs or more!!

I think it's gonna be like last year... slim to none.

A lot of the local captains seem to feel the same way.

Great albacore bites go in cycles. We're on the down swing of the typical 7-8 year cycle.

Not really what anyone wants to hear, but...

I have heard the same thing about the fish! You are looking at 5 years for the next run! Just my 2 cents!

It can really be a here today - gone tomorrow proposition.

Boats off Southern California coasts have been getting into some, but most of the boats getting them are getting around one per rod, or less.

That's not enough to get me too excited... yet!

Fishing is all about optimism. I guess if we didn't believe we were going to catch anything, we wouldn't go out... right??

Its sort of like the lottery: You can't win if you don't play!

You're not going to catch anything sitting home reading the fish reports...

Me? I'll be out there this weekend. Probably at the islands, full moon, dreaming of white sea bass, yellowtail, and halibut.
