Default Carp...

I tried fishing for them once, but it was a total waste of time...

Anyway, I was wondering, do people actually eat Carp? Also, why do people try to protect them, they kill so many other fish by stirring up the mud!

They are the second biggest pest in Australia, they have killed so many native fish over the years...

I know alot of websites that encourage you to catch a carp and throw it on the bank.... A bunch of s#!t if you ask me. I catch and release everyone i catch, because I fish for pleasure of the fight. They beat bass in fighting, im not afraid to say it. PLus, carp taste horrible anyways.

Carp are fun an lazy summer day. They fight great and there have been many studies that show carp are not harmful to the ecosystem and actually may be beneficial because carp fry make great food for predator fish.

Ah, no, that may be the case for you.

But in Australia they have killed of thousands of native fish.

Our fish are used to clear water, my local lake was thriving with Redfin, someone released a couple of carp and NOTHING else can live there.

It has happened in so many places in Australia.

Also, How do you catch them? We tried everything the internet and Rex Hunt suggested.

We were there for a few hours and caught nothing, but there are heaps of Carp there because recently there was a tournament and they caught loads!

Do you have any suggestions.

(By the way Carp are that bad here it is Illegal to release them, you have to kill them or you get like a $500 fine or something)

Corn and dougballs on a size 8 or smaller hook using a fish finder rig. Just cast it out and wait. It is very passive fishing till you hook up. Then you are in for one hell of a fight.
