You can catch them. You just have to use plant stuff as bait, i hear those baby tomatoes or whatever those little ones are called work well. Also corn works well, ive also heard of people using french fries

Grass carp are notoriously hard to catch, especialy in the uk. That looks like a fine fish. The method they use in the uk is floating bread crust, or a product called boilies, (hard round compound baits) usually scented with oils. Nice fish, well done even if ya did snag it, i bet it battled hard.

Hi Tex -Bassman! That is a sweet carp you got there. Just learned recently that in California all grass carp have to be released. Appearently they are protected! Common carp are ok though. I can see why you thought what you did about the monster bass... lol. They put up a really good fight.
Folks, carp are not difficult to catch if you know how to target them. Some people even target them with flys. |

Actually, In texas if you catch a grass carp in a uncertified lake(you need a special certificate thing to put them in your pond legally) you must kill it immediatly. The lake i caught it in wasnt a certified lake, but I'd never just throw it on the bank to die. Worst rule in the book.
