Cool cats as pets?

I have one I caught at a local pond and brought it home as a joke!

It ate all the other fish in the tank (go figure) and it lives all alone and eats a worm every othr day etc....

Im looking to get a filter system for my 130 gal. and then he will reside there

What species? They are freaking incredible predators - and much more aggressive then most people realize

When i was younger I put a channel cat in a small pond it took to it nicely. Maybe a bit to nicely. The pond had mostly small mudcats and pan fish. After about two weeks I stopped seein so many pan fish

I currently have one in my aquiarium, and it lives happily with 3 bluegill and a bass about 6 inches long... Every week I go down to the pond and catch a bunch of small minnows and dump them in there, the fish just go crazy over them.

They will eat anything smaller than themselves. Funny, most people think they are just scavengers, but they really prefer live food.

I had a blue channel cat and that fish thrived and ate every fish it could get in its mouth. When I got bored with fish in my other tanks I'd feed them to the catty. It was sad day when he finally died. I bought him at pet store when he was 2" long and he was about 12" when he passed away.

Well I can inderstand the sadness. I used to have a albino channel cat also...
I heard they secrete a hormone or ensyme (sp?) that if not watched carefuly in a tank that it will drive them insane? He loved to eat crawdaddys
