Here is a video of the action I got last week. This fish was caught on 10# test line, on a crappy Bass rod combo that is about 15 years old. The drag was sticking and I was worried several times that the fish would win the battle... but in the end the beast was subdued.
Isn't it funny how we spend all that money on nice equipment and then it is the crappy old rod that catches the fish? Here is the video of the final minutes as it was boated. YouTube - Granny Vs. The Beast Guess I probably should add that the fish weighed in at 18.6 and that I won a nice BBQ as the first place winner of the day. Last edited by Granny Fish; 07-18-2007 at 03:26 AM.. |

Thanks for the props guys - I won the derby with the biggest fish of the day and got a Coleman gas grill out of it. Hoping that Western Outdoor News will publish the picture either this week or next.
What a rush! |

Today I got a call from Western Outdoor News. Last week they had a write up of the event and spelled my name wrong and got the fish weight wrong. They apologized and they are planning to post a picture as well. Boy this fish is getting a lot of milage... I think I better eat it soon!
