How was the water out at south point, pretty rough this time of year right? I remember being in the bottom of the swells and the island disapearing, kinda scary! You had a nice day with all those fish! Were you fishing skirts, rapalas, or bonitas?
Heh, heh,
The "gt"'s actually came from the outside reefs... Lito got in real close to the shore (close as in actually riding breakers in the ocean master!) and we hooked up about 7 or 8 of them... big stuff just wasn't playing! that was two weeks ago!
Last weekend... 2 30lbs+ wahoo and two yellow fin (40 and 25 lbs).
This Sat morning 10 Yellow fin, 1 rainbow runner, 1 trevalli, 2 skipjack and a barracuda that was waaaaay out deep off south point. I'll post pics some time soon... need to d/l them off the camera and my net connection is reallllly slow out here today for some reason.
Overall a very nice day!!!

Fishing is a lifestyle.....Don't ever forget that!
Nice reports and pictures
I myself may never get a chance to catch one of those ... so thanks for sharing
mike
South was actually pretty nice... low strong swells but, we were lucky, north side been nasty with the wind blowing. Almost every afternoon has been flagged. My upstairs neighbor just got back in and went the north route... water breaking over both bow and stern on his morning run!
Right now the thing to rig is pink/blue bright skirts large heavy ones that'll run deep (or add some weight).
Scheduled for a Sunday morning this weekend, hopefully I'll have time to upload some more pics!
Mike if you ever get the chance to fish here....GRAB IT!
Keep 'em tight!

Well,
I haven't been posting and been a bit lazy as far as the net is concerned.... Here's a whole series of photos while I have access to a broadband connection... in no particular order all within the last couple of weeks.
Hook 'em up!

Thank you so much for those pics and videos. The videos turned out really well. It really makes me wish I could have stayed there longer than 4 months.![]()
You are more than welcome! I'll post more in a bit, it's nice to have broadband for a while (I'm home on leave in Hawaii). I have to review them before I post them... we tend to forget not to swear when we get excited... I'm not sure what the rules are here in regards to that and I obviously would not like to have a youngster to hear what curse like a sailor means!!!Maybe I can mix some music over the audio to make it safe?
Dean
Okay,
I know myself and if I take the time to do an audio mix on these vids they will never get done.... So, with that said I'd like to place a warning on these that sometimes when we get excited or surprised some swearing will occur... Please screen before letting children watch or if you are offended by such language (or turn off the speakers). I looked to see if there were rules regarding this in the forum and couldn't find anything... if I've broken the rules please let me know and I will remove the links! With all that said here are some more vids from DG... check out the lasso/shark bite vid!
Also, anyone know if I'm allowed to recommend a good fishing store I found here in the forum? Found a family run one here in Hawaii that has good prices and a great selection for saltwater ops!
Hook 'em up!

1st one three lines working:
2nd one, a baby yellow fin notable for the excellent color!
More to follow as I get them uploaded!![]()
Here's some more random ones from September. Just packed up my bags with steel cable, new skirts, swivels, hooks etc. etc. etc. for the return to the isle.
Supposedly the new boats will be there when I get back... unfortunately we are coming to the end of the yellow fin season and it's going to get HOT now.
I'll update on the new boats and prices when I get back in about 2 weeks. I'm hearing that the price for charters will go up to $125 for a half day and six ppl will be the new limit onboard.
Have to post Matt's monster since he caught that big Wahoo... others I just downloaded from the camera so I shouldn't have posted them yet.
Keep 'em tight!

Realized I'm posting about a place most people never see. Here are some shots of the isle. If you really want a kick, google earth "Diego Garcia" or the British Indian Ocean Territories..... Also a quick shot of blue water heading out from the channel............. Oh, I can't take credit for the air shots... found them on the web and thought I'd share them!

Heading for DG in March 08 and ready to start my twilight tour of Fishing and Fishing and some Beer drinking. I did 6 years at Cubi Point and killed many fish. From reading the logs of the Diego Fisherman. I am in for great tour. Anyone in DG need anything on the island before I leave ?

Alrighty, I'm jealous again. Hope you have a good trip out there and some better fishing. One the best untouched fisheries of the world!!!
