Man! I'm going through withdrawals here! Been deployed since I've left the isle and no word on the fishing? Someone from DGAr help or I'll start posting old stuff that I haven't yet! Need a fish fix! Keep 'em tight! Dean

DEANO,
The fishing has been very slow sense your departure. I have never duplicted the day of our five yellow fin slam. We have caught many wahoo and a couple of nice GT'S . I retire 30 June of this year. till we drink to the foam Rich |

Well, That definitely is not good news! Is Leto still there? and make sure you drop me your home email so we can stay in touch! Been doing some light surf fishing here but nothing too impressive. It looks like the guys that work for me are itching to do some deep sea stuff now that we're back from deployment. I'll keep you posted! Hope you've enjoyed your time there! Keep 'em tight! Deano

Deano,
Lito departs the island for his 3 months leave starting 3 FEB. Yesturday we went out on for his last run and did not do much on the troll but we did catch some nice Grouper and Snapper. Rudy will take his boat while he is gone. I will miss Lito, we are throwing a party next week for him and Junior. Pong has left for Turks and Caicos. Fish on Rich |

In Afghanistan, supposed to be headed to DGAR for 15 months next Jan/Feb time frame. I fish for about everything that swims. Currently tying Crazy Charlies for bones. Hope to do some trolling, vertical jigging w/ metal jigs, and some popping for GT while I'm there. Any tips appreciated.

Hey tackle junkie, when the time gets closer, I will give you specific locations and techniques to target GT's. You can get them from shore, but you better hold on!
You can also troll for them, and i'll give you some lure choices to go get!

OK my turn to hit the rock for a year or so. Have loved reading the posts and am completely confused about most everything fishing. Most of my fishing experiences were as a kid with a stick, some line and worms from the graveyard. Loved it then and with the chance to get stationed somewhere where the fishing is top notch is always a bonus. Doesn't hurt that I'll have more time there than any when I'm stateside. I've printed out the pics of the pretty lures and hope to find something like them with the help of the guys I work with.
Any advise for a fishing virgin (yes it can happen again, given enough time)? I get to go shopping for everything I may need as long as someone puts it in terms I can understand. I hope to do a lot of shore fishing (my chance to shut everyone out or just run away) and since I'm bringing my kayak to play in the lagoon some fishing from it if possible. I need any advise from pole, to line, to hooks, yep I'm a complete idiot about it all but that's what you get when agreeing to a frontal lobotomy (I swear I thought they said "bottle in front of me" when they let me go to the dark side). Hi guys/Gals,
Sorry I've been prepping for an inspection and not on much, For Ariel and Riggerrn I'm not on the isle anymore but you should look up my friend Bruce Paxton who works for DG-21 and BMC Rob Gibbs who will be there soon. Also, make sure to see Leto the boat captain for your best trip. He will also give advice that is rare if ever wrong. Make sure you say "Hi" to Leto and everyone at the boat shack for me! Jealous....... yes I am! ~Keep em tight! ![]() Deano |
