I am Abel I live in Hawaii and fish 2 or 3 days a week mostly with light tackle and spear . I fish on level with most 12 year olds here using hotdog, bread, shrimp, etc for bait and mostly throw back any fish I catch cause they are too young or small to eat . I am always trying to learn new tricks an recipes so if you have info its always welcome!

Thanks for C&R Abel and welcome to the site! A few years back my father went to hawaii and caught a bunch of small fish looking just like small marlin from the beach... Were these a different fish?

There are several small fish that resemble a marlin . . . needlefish . . .Hebi which are spearfish as well but much smaller . . .kayak fishing is gaining alot of popularity here . . . cause its a wild ride catchin a 50lb mahi mahi and letting it drag you around til it gets tired!
