First Day Donegal

The weekend I went to Donegal (5th oct) was very good, at a meeting of the local club we were told that only brown trout were to count in the competition on Sunday. But saturday we headed to Waskel fishery, boy what a day. Without exageration my son hooked and released about eighteen rainbows. I didn't do so good but did manage to hook up with about half a dozen.
Here are a few snaps of our first day out in Donegal, unfortunately i do not have any photo's of Waskel, the lake we fished the day before the competition. But the first photo is of a small lake outside the house where my son lives. It is absolutely stuffed, full of small wild brown trout. I actually fished it one day and had about 30+fish of around half a pound. Great fun outside your own door eh. The following photo's are of the average size fish in Waskel fishery Donegal, which are between 3 and five pounds. There are bigger Rainbows and if oldmanriver can upload it, there is a photo of a fish he caught of around nine and a half pound I think.
