Help me settle a bet with a friend…

Is Yogi a homosexual bear, or is he straight? Just for the sake of argument…Nothing wrong with either choice.

I really believe that Yogi is a gay bear. I shall now present you with the evidence I have come up with. Let's start off with physical appearance. Yogi always looked very nice. He wore a sweet (for the 70's) hat, he wore a tie and had handsome looks-- for a cartoon bear. He called his bowtie wearing friend and partner, his Boo Boo boy.

Yogi and Boo Boo lived together and Boo Boo kept an extemely tidy cave. Yogi had a fascination, or should I say obsession for "lovely picnic baskets" and he was generally a connoisseur of food. He also liked to taunt & flirt with Ranger Smith and that seemed to really bug Boo Boo to no end.

Then there was Cindy Bear. She was really hot for Yogi and Yogi either paid her little attention or he ran away in a panic. He was afraid of her and she was quite the hottie for a cartoon bear anyway. He certainly tried to court her but it always seemed such a struggle.

He wasn't a shy bear by any means…. his reluctance with Cindy was painful, to say the least. That reluctance helps me draw the conclusion that Yogi didn't really want Cindy bear. He wanted his little Boo Boo boy and as expected, at the end of every episode it was
Boo Boo, not Cindy, that went home with Yogi.

Yogi & Boo Boo shared a room and a bed. They were "roommates". Therefore, it is my position that Yogi was gay.

Case closed, IMO.

That's pretty perceptive PADavid...You are correct anyway in that it is like a code word. In the circles I travel in, we call it a "safe word".
