Colorado Town stocks more than 9,000 Rainbow Trout

Pagosa Springs, Colo. announced it has begun the stocking of more than 9,000 Rainbow trout during summer 2008 as part of its Pagosa Quality Fishing Project. The stocking will enhance the already popular fishing destination for tourists and locals visiting the San Juan River.

Approximately two miles of the world-class fishery flows through downtown Pagosa Springs and the stockings stretch from the intersection of Hwy 84 and 160 through the Apache Street Bridge. The ponds located within River Center Park will also be stocked with trout. Fish between 12-24 inches, weighing up to six pounds will be stocked weekly through August 4, 2008.
