I see so many shows on tv that are on fishing the flats all over. Is this a great area to fish. I seem to be liking the idea of red fish? Sucks I live in New Jersey but i will travel to fish.

I mostly see peole fishin the flats targeting bone fish, althought there are many others, the bone fish will swim in shallow enough that you can see their tails breakin water, Id love to get out there and try sight fishin the flats it looks like a lot of fun.

I was in the Keys a few years ago and we caught Spanish Makeral in the flats...
Nice, cause they were good eating. We smoked some of them. From what I hear tarpon and bonefish aren't so good to eat.

Ya I am 100% C&R so taste is not a factor for me. I hear sight fishing the flats is amazing!!! I believe you can target several types including some shark as well. I just want some on light tackle and some biggins as well
