Heres a catfish I recently caught on a 4 wt. fly rod fishing for bass, never caught one on fly before and never heard of it happening to anyone. Sorry for the bad pics, it was on a camera phone.

I catch Bass on a fly rod quite often. Summertime is perfect for it when the bluegill are spawning. You will catch a lot of blues but the bass come around and get in on the action. A 4# bass on a 5/6wt setup is extremely fun and takes some finessing to get in.

Nice catch, was it in shallow water? Channels, especially the small ones, are very aggressive toward any bait in shallow water! I have caught one on a crank before!
