Launched out of Lewes, DE on "Sneezy" with Capt. Coddfish (brotherinlaw) and Drew (FishingNotCatching). The water was very clear (for the Delaware Bay anyhow) but we had a out of the NE piling up waves on our starboard side the whole trip out. Starting fishing in the site 6 area and nailed some throwback fluke on the first drop. The wind settled down at dead high tide and we had a slow drift.
After about an hour we found a great drift line and nailed a few in the 17" range then Capt. Coddfish hits one close to 20". Drew nails another in the 19" range and we continue to pick up occasional throw backs. I caught one at around 17" and a short. Moved to the tip of Brown Shoal and nothing doing but a few skates. Moved to Broadkill Slough and the reef site there and Capt. Codd hits another fat keeper fluke. We then had a pick of small croaker in the 10" range which were very adept at stealing our bait. Rigs were some Capt. Codd custom top and bottom with hair (pink and green) teasers, I used a chrome ball with B-2 squid (triple glow) trailer most of the day and we also used some "old school" three way with squiddy trailers. Bait - squid minnow sandwiches. Thanks to Capt. Codd for finding the fluke and keeping us on the fish - he really knows the bay! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
