Default Carping with the Smallies

Went out last night to a local river in the Reading, PA area. We managed 8 carp in a a two hour span and I caught 8 small mouth at the same time. It got really fun, I would hook a smallie and the carp rod woudl start singing that old fishy song - quick reel in the bass, grab the carp and fight the fish. Release carp - re-bait and pick up the smallie rod, hook a smallie and the carp rod would go off!

Any way, got my first mirror carp.

and a few common

Carp are fun. Is this going to be your new addiction?

Mike:

How long they take to land depends on where you are fishing. Those carp where caught in the river, so with the current involved they take about 10 minutes to land. In a lake, less time.
