I have gotten many testimonials about trout fishing with our bobber but this one warms the heart so I thought I would share it with you!! Ths is a little long but you will always remember it!+++
A FISH STORY One of the sweetest kindest testimonials you will ever read! Even Wal Mart will be impressed with our BOBBER after reading this and should post it in all their stores! From: Paul Griffin -Colorado Wow, you guys are super! Thanks again for your great customer service. You guys are definately the best! I'll take some more pictures of our fishing successes this year and send them to you. At the risk of boring you to death, here's a story concerning your BWAB. +++ One of my favorite fishing spots is about one hour from my home and is up in the mountains. It's a beautiful cold-water fishing mountain lake (no catfish, carp, bass, etc.) and is a wonderful place to catch rainbow trout. I was up there last summer and there was a family of 3 that came up and started fishing not too far from me. Not close enough to be a bother, but close enough that I could hear them and watch them. I had already been there about 2 hours and was doing some catch and release fishing, as I had already caught my limit within the first hour and had them cleaned and on ice in my cooler. After about an hour, they hadn't even had a bite. Their son (I'm guessing he was around 7 or 8 years old) asked his dad how come I was doing so well, and they couldn't even get a bite. The dad told him to come ask me what I was using for bait that was working so well. So him and his parents walked up to where I was and started visiting with me. When their son walked up to me, he had a small "Spiderman" rod and reel that his parents had just got for him at Wal-Mart. He also had a bunch of nightcrawlers in a standard Wal-Mart container (the ones that resemble a cottage cheese container). I told him to have a seat next to me and do exactly what I do. I told him I had been using power bait, but his worms should do just fine, also. But first, I told his parents I would like to re-rig him using one of my extra BWABs. (I always have 3 with me in my tackle box at all times). The parents had never heard of such a thing, so I gave a quick demo of how it works, and rigged one up on their son's little rod & reel. I set the hook about 18 inches above the sinker, as that's where I had mine set and was doing just fine. He cast his line out, and for a $10.00 kid's rig, it actually got his line out about 15 yards from shore - which was plenty good enough, as the water gets deep quick there. I told him to let the line settle till the bobber stood up, then reel in the slack. After about 10 minutes, the bobber made a small, quick "nod" then stood back up. Trout are know for this. They will "tease" a bait several times sometimes before actually taking it. I told him to wait for the bobber to go down and move sideways before setting the hook. Seconds later it happened. The bobber tipped, went sideways, and he yanked his little rod and hooked his first fish! He reeled it in and I used my dip net to scoop it out of the water. It was a beautiful 12 inch Rainbow Trout. His excitement and the look on his face was absolutely priceless! He was literally jumping up and down laughing, and with a smile as big as his face would allow! I showed him how to take the hook out and we put his trout on his dad's stringer. I rigged both of his parents' up with BWABs from my spares and we all sat and fished for another couple of hours. Each of them got their limit. They tried to give me back my BWABs but I told them to keep them use them in the future. I don't remember their names, but I found out from talking to them that they had never been fishing before. They had just recently moved to Colorado. They had purchased a book on fishing and went to Wal-Mart and got the bare necessities which included a small tackle box, hooks, sinkers, stringer, nightcrawlers, etc. There is no amount of money in the world that can make you feel as good as seeing them catch their first fish ever, then go on and catch their limit! I gave them your web sight address. (I hope they ordered some from you). When the day was over, they couldn't thank me enough for showing them such a good time, but it was definately me who had the best time! Regards as always from Colorado Springs, Colorado; Paul Griffin |
