The best Float N Fly technique is to use a slip rig and to use a flaot with directional control.

You can cover a lot of water with each cast and if you learn how to do it right you will not need to make more then one cast per drift. Use the directional control (side to side) to get under trees or over spawning beds and use the a jigging action (vertical) to get the fish to hit. Or just use the side planing action to spread out your baits or lures.
