Default best reels for big game?

hello. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on big game reels besides shimano or garcia? i found a site that seems to have the lowest prices on all fishing reels called All-AmericanOutdoors and i was going to order 2 reels there, but dont know alot about big game fishing. I noticed the penn and accurate reels were like 100.00 cheaper there than other places i looked, and was curious if anyone know what brand is the best? Sorry for the stupid question. Thaanks, and any suggestions are appreciated

You will not go wrong with a Penn conventional reel. But the prices on that site are not that great, you can do better I bet!

I personally use AVET reels for all my big game fishing. Tuna, Marlin, Sails, Wahoo etc..., but for inshore heavy duty spinning rigs, you can get by with a Penn 706Z, any spinfisher series 7500 and up, or look into Accurate or Van Staals. I use Van Staal's for my spinning rigs...at least until AVET starts to make a spinning reel. Try CharkBait, or Home Page Avet,Everol,Tsunami,Avet EXW50 QUAD,MX,AVET Reels for some good deals on big game reels.

Well it really depends on what you are specifically fishing for. I use a Penn 8500ss spinning reel for kings, sharks, tarpon, pretty much every inshore gamefish. On the Penn Internationals, you cannot go wrong. Great line of reels that can cover anything from shark to marlin. The Penn spinning reels Go for around 100 on ebay, 130 at a store. Not sure about the Internationals.

Good luck choosing a reel,

tb
