This is a thread that was on the site before it went down in the virginia section. Seeing as there still is no Va forum on the site after it came back up ill post here. Im not sure if anyone that made these posts are registered again but I just wanted to say that strippers are runnin the potomac. I was at riverside park in Alexandria and caught a few the biggest being roughly 20 inches and was prob around 6 or 7 pounds. I was using a live bluegill they make a great bait if u can catch one small enough to use whole. Ive had verried luck using them as cut bait.

Yea they arent very big in the river there commin in from the bay(check out my profile pic to see what they look like in the bay). But seening as i dont live all that close to the bay and only go out when someone i know charters a boat. Also id rather catch a 20in stripper than a 40 pound carp. That being said i hooked a 40+ carp in the same spot while bass fishin.
