Thread: Searching for a sound I heard when fishing in the SF Bay

I don't know a lot about fishing boats, i was hoping some of you here could help. I went fishing in the San Francisco bay last July and when we went out in the morning there was sort of a low pitched beep noise the boat emitted. The sound haunts my memory to this day, and I don't know what part of the boat was making that sound! Perhaps if I knew what it was, i could find a sample of the sound online. It was sort of a repeating beep at a low pitch, very slow.

By the way, we chartered a boat that probably had about 20 other people on it if that helps. We fished on the front of it, I caught nothing. I'm not much of a fisherman. Haha. My father caught 2 halibut.

Edit: The sound was an electronic noise. Was it GPS?
