    Default Rainbows In Donegal

Well here we go again, my brother joined me recently for a spot of rainbow fishing up in my favourite rainbow fishery. WASKEL Trout Fishery in Dungloe, Co Donegal. (Flyfishing only)
He, (my brother) has never been fishing for rainbow before, so this was a first for him to expierence some of the excitement.
We headed out after obtaining a ticket in Dungloe town, 25euros per person per day is not expensive for this fishery. We were a short way down the fishery when my brother hooked this his first rainbow.

Further down into the fishery I came up with this:

We were kept busy for most of the day, and probably hooked up with a total of maybe twenty or so rainbows.
You are allowed to keep three fish each on this fishery, and with a choice of three two seven pound fish and bigger, you won't be disappointed. The sport from these fish is truly amazing, my brothers heart was in his throat for the whole day. Hooking up wasn't the problem, but unhooking was. Thankfully all the fish which were returned were returned healthy.

Day two and similar sport prevailed, the weather was perfect the fish were taking deep and the beer was freezing cold. We were joined by my son and his friend, John Paul ,who owns Costal Locksmiths and sells tackle and tickets for this wonderful fishery in Dungloe. Here are the both of us with another few nice rainbows.

Another shot of John Paul coming in from the boat, his first time out as well and not disappointed.

My son fishes this fishery regularly, as he lives next to it. LUCKY SOB. He would be a good guide, as his father taught him well. He won't appreciate that ha, but if you are interested in fishing here give him a call. (Darren 00353 0864044047) Here he is with my brother and another fine fish.

Most of the sourrounding lakes in this area would be inhabited with wild deer, this lake is just in front of my sons house. And the deer were roaming around whilst I was having my not so early morning coffee.

All in all this was the shot of the two days, my brother who has never fished for rainbows before and he ended up with these three fine fish. The best of which was around five pounds in weight.

I can't wait for the return visit, it can't come soon enough.
    Regards
    Dave.

    Nice bunch of fish.
Calling an Illegal Alien an "Undocumented Immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"
