Seeing that no one has posted in the Mexico Fishing section.... I just had to be first.![]()
I'm planning a trip to Cabo in September with a group of fishing folks from another fishing website. It will be my first trip of this kind in Mexican waters. I can hardly wait!![]()

Bass would be okay, but I'm looking for one of those drag screaming, reel burning tuna! Anything that makes my drag scream will be ok with me....
I did two days of panga fishing out of Cabo a few years ago... was there right after a hurricane, we got limits of Dorado both days, to 35#. Also caught a few small bluefin tuna.
Good luck, but if you're going to try to get on a boat I'd say book early. Most of them want a deposit to hold a spot, don't take credit cards, and don't actually confirm your spot until your check clears.
Get a recommendation on a boat from someone who's been there, or you may just end up going for a boat ride...

Thanks for the advise SH. Actually it is all completely booked in advance. The group does the trip every year. I need to start collecting my gear. I've never done this type of fishing before.... but I heard that the guys that take you out are really helpful. I'm really looking forward to the trip.
if you go to the marina, walk and talk to all the locals and they will make unbelievable deals to fish. good luck
I went there 4 years ago with my family and I caught 2 sailfish, but back then i didnt know how much of a great fish they were so i didnt really appriciate the moment, LOL. Good luck!
